One of the first blogs on this site mentioned the futility of using the criminal law to deal with the drug abuse problem on the supply side. Now the long term data is being compiled and statistics are showing this to be the case. It is worth repeating that abandoning the costly yet largely ineffective effort to limit the supply of illegal drugs does not indicate approval of their use. On the contrary, as previously mentioned, some of the most conservative pundits were among the first to recognize  the need to devote resources to limiting the demand for drugs rather than pursuing a losing “War On Drugs”
